23rd May 1977: Camp site on the Aegean sea near Thessaloniki, Greece
24th May: Londra Camping outside Istanbul, Turkey
25th May-27th May: Istanbul
28th May: Drove to Izmir via Bursa, Balikesir Camped south of Balikesir, north of Akhisar
29th May: Drove to Izmir, Visited Ephasus, Camped between Aydin and Cine
30th May: Drove via Yatagan to Fethiye, Drove to coast to Camp Deniz
31st May: Deniz Camping
1st June: Short drive from Deniz Camping to Fethiye to Patara Beach
2nd June: Patara
3rd June: Patara to Finike
4th June: Via Antalya to ruins of Aspendus. Camped east of Manavgat (near Side)
5th June: Through Alanya. Camped near the Byzantine Kızkalesi Castle (Maiden's Castle) on an offshore island.
6th June: Via Mersin inland to camp near Nidge
7th June: Via Kayseri near Pinarbasi (turned east at Bunyan)
8th June: Via Malatya to Elazig. Turned NE to Palu
9th June: Via Bingol to Mus to Tatuan, Camped beside Lake Van near Gevas
10th June: North to Van then to Hosup Albayrak then Essendere to Sero (in Turkey), Camped near Sero
11th June: Entered Iran to Reza’iyah past Lake Urnia to camp between Iransah and Divan Darreh
12th June: Crossed main highway near Kermanshah to camp west of Khorramabad
13th June: Just east of Daran
14th-16th June: Isfahan
17th June: Persepolis
18th June: North to Surmaq and turned east to camp near Beda Kabit
19th June: Via Yazd to camp middle of Desert Dasht-e-Lut
20th June: Camped in Tabiz in riverbed near Belun
21st June: Mashhad
22nd June: Into Afghanistan via Taybad, Tirpul to Herat
23rd June: Herat
24th June: Kandahar
25th June: Kabul via Ghazni
26th -28th June: Kabul
29th June: North to Charikara and west to Red City, Camped in field beside ruins
30th June: Bamiyan then NW to Band-i-mir
1st July: Camped near Salang Pass
2nd July: Kabul
3rd July: Via Khyber Pass to Peshwar in Pakistan
4th-6th July: Lahore
7th July: Enter India near Wagan and travel via Amritsar and Pathankot, Jammu and camped between Jammu and Atote Pass
8th-11th July: Srinigar
12th July: Camped near Sonamarg
13th July: Drass
14th July: Truck breaks down in Drass
15th July: Hitched to a town and stayed in a crummy hotel in Kargil?
16th July: 4.00 am start to Leh
